When mankind was young, I was not.
When mankind first stepped out of the womb, I eyed in awe. I never believed in destinies, but the angels did.
They told me that you were destined for greatness, that you were designed with this world in mind, and that everything we built was for you.
You were the next step in our evolution, the step we've been waiting for. I believed them.
When you chopped down our trees and razed our lands, I believed them.
When you rounded up and slaughtered our children, I believed them.
When you corrupted our skies and poisoned our oceans, I believed them.
I didn't stop you, because I believed them.
When you razed your villages and raped your women, I believed them.
When plagues slowly culled your cities, I believed them.
When you flooded the earth with your blood, your home nothing more than a mass grave, I believed them.
I didn't help you, because I believed them.
Do you not hear the earth crying out to you?
The earth that birthed you, clothed you, fed you, raised you?
Are you deaf to its wails, blind to its tears?
When the ground shifts from under you, do you not move with it?
You treated your burns with boiling water; you put out fire with more fire. Each step you take brings you closer to the grave.
Why do you keep walking? Have you deceived yourself into thinking the world needs you?
